Three Key Ways to Build Your Spiritual Muscles.

As it is with anything, living and leading from within requires continuous commitment and dedication, followed by taking daily steps to stay connected to your internal world. And in a world that is so much about the ‘external’ stuff, this can be a huge challenge.

There are three key ways to commit to living and leading from within and to help you build your spiritual muscles.

These are:

  • Contemplation
  • Meditation, and
  • Prayer

These three actions are what you can use to ‘tone up’ and ‘show up’, and create an external world that reflects a more aligned and stress-free internal world.

All three steps help you unite your mind, body, and soul, to relieve fear and suffering, and guide you towards freedom, fulfilment, and even, fun!

Why should you build your spiritual muscles?

Well, because you want to be happy right?

You want to feel energised, supported, and loved?

Because you know there’s more to life than just working 9-5, fighting your way through traffic, and putting up with toxic people in your life.

Really, it comes down to knowing there’s more.

There’s so much more than this. You can feel it.

You’re sensitive to it.

You’re sensitive to the world, to what’s happening to the people around you, and to what’s happening within you.

There’s no doubt about it, you need spiritual stamina to live in the light and lead from within.

I want you to feel good about yourself.

I want you to accept a compliment with grace and gratitude.

I want you to know how brilliant you really are.

I want you to know how beautiful you really are.

I want you to own it.

Own it all.

Everything single thing about you!

And I want that for me too.

Listen to this podcast to hear about the new commitment I’ve made to myself.

I am sure you will feel motivated to make the same commitment too.

Please get in touch with me at kira@kirajean.com, I would love to support you in your commitment towards self-love.

Trash-talking an apple

Onwards and upwards my friend.

Let’s work on this together.

Self-love.

Not the wishy-washy kind.

The “I’m freakin’ over feeling crap about myself, my life, and everything else in between!” kind.

I’ve committed to practicing self-love even more.

And to loving my life – totally.

Are you in?

Lots of love, Kira x x

How to own your special gifts and talents.

Today I released the need to justify my talents and gifts.

I came to realise recently that when I talk to others about something I am doing, a blessing I have received, or anything wonderful that has/is happening in my life, I find myself justifying it.

For example I say things like “oh yes, but I’ve worked hard for it”, “yeah, well, it’s not that big of a deal”, “oh, I’m just trying it out, I’m not really sure what I’m doing”.

I realised that in some way I was trying to explain myself. Explain my gifts and all the good things I had in my life, rather than owning them.

Of course, the above statements are in some respect true, but they are not the whole truth. Yes I do work hard, but that is not the only reason I’m successful. Yes, I have had many blessings in my life, but not because “I suffered enough already” and the other things I say to justify it, but because it is my divine right to receive such blessings.

As I reflected on this insight I realised how easily I could own the not-so-good things happening in my life.

Oh yeah, that ‘stuff’ – it was all my fault. I could own that. Then try to fix it. No problem. After all, I have always been good at being hard on myself.

But today I released the need to justify all the good (and ‘bad’) things in my life and simply OWN them.

Because this is the real truth –

5 Ways Leading From Within Will Change Your Life.

My friend,

You were born to lead.

You were born to lead millions of people, hundreds, or a lucky few.

Or… perhaps you were born to lead one person – a very lucky one.

Or maybe, just maybe, you were born to lead yourself.  You were born to follow the wisdom of your own heart and mind, and blaze a trail that reveals itself only as you courageously walk along it.

This is what I call leading from within, and it is what I deeply believe in, consistently commit to, and teach others how to do.

Leading from within empowers you to make wise decisions and act based on a deeper understanding and knowing.

This kind of leadership, once you’re tuned into it, flows easily. It’s not forced, aggressive or controlling. It produces positive results, and can help you balance your relationships, both personally and professionally. You become a magnet, and easily attract the people and resources you need in order to lead and live a fun and fulfilling life.

If you feel called to lead in some way, it’s important your leadership comes not from ego, but from sharing your gifts and story with the world. It needs to come from the soul, from a deep place of wanting to empower others and affect positive change.

Kira in the Middle of a MELTDOWN.

I have no idea if this podcast will be useful for you.

I simply felt guided to record myself in the middle of a semi-meltdown.

I was totally trying to control everything, to the point of really working myself up  into a highly stressed state.

The situation itself wasn’t stressful at all, rather my attachments and need to control EVERYTHING were getting in the way of me being present and calm in the moment.

Through this experience I gained huge insight into what was really important to me.  You’ll hear me talk about my journey from a girl with a backpack to know having a wonderful home that I adore.

Challenges are one of our greatest teachers.

As you listen to this recording you will notice how I was able to witness my reaction to the situation and turn it around with a simple prayer and by being compassionate towards myself.

I recorded this podcast while in the middle of this high stress, controlling, fear-based emotional state, so I ramble on for awhile until I reach a point of understanding, compassion, and finally release from the fear and need to control. Read More

What happened when I let it all go and went with the flow.

Going with the flow for me, means being totally in tune with my own flow.

Our energy is changing all the time, and there is a natural flow, a natural cycle that reveals itself if we open up to it.

What I’ve been noticing lately is how challenging it is to be in my own flow in a world where everything is flowing, and not always in the same way I am.

In my work especially, I feel pressure to get things done and push harder, even on the days I really feel like sitting on the sofa with a cup of tea and staring into space.

On the flip side, this past week I’ve had ridiculous amounts of energy.  I been waking up with a spring in my step, despite hardly sleeping and working late.

There was a part of me that thought I should “try” to create some balance.  That I should back away from the high energy.

I was scared I would burn out. I was scared it wouldn’t last, and I really felt like I should try to “control” it more.

Yes, of course.  It was best to “tame” it, to calm down, take it easy, and not dive deep into it.

What is it about intense energy/emotion that we fear so much?

Everyone else fears it. I even feared it myself.

It’s like it shouldn’t be there. It feels…..

unpredictable.

We want it, well we say we do, but when we get it we want to turn back, we want to stay within the walls of our comfort zone.

Is it really THAT comfortable living at half-mast?

If we were to run with it, the fast-paced, passion-fuelled energy, we’ll be judged.

Reckless.

Not taking care of herself.

Wild.

Too “out-there”.

You know what I mean?

And what if we don’t? We don’t run with it.

What if we don’t go with the flow when it comes?

What if we push it down?

Don’t let it out? Read More

What’s Your Big Fear? The one that has a hold on you.

What’s your BIG fear? I mean really. What is it that scares the life out of you? It stops you in your tracks, you freeze up, close up, or run for cover.

What is it?

What is that fear?

The one that has a hold on you.

You probably don’t even know what it is. You have a lot of small fears, and those you could reel off to me without a problem. Those fears you can face. Because it’s easier. It’s easier to face those fears than face your really BIG fear.

You cover up your big fear in a bunch of small fears, to validate having a fear, but to avoid looking at the real fear too closely.

What is it about it that shakes you to your core?

What is it about that fear that makes you feel small, powerless, helpless?

What is your BIG fear?

What is it deep down that has a hold on you?

It makes you sick from the inside to even acknowledge it’s there.

You pipe up with all that resistance and defiance, and you probably want to scream at me right now, or simply dismiss me as someone who’s trying to stir up sh*t, stir up all that unnecessary stuff.

You know there’s no point in waking up the sleeping monster. What good will it do? Read More

Forget Google. Here’s where you’ll find your answers . {the art of journaling}.

It’s my belief and understanding that we have access to all the answers we seek. The majority of answers lie deep within, and are only found through stillness, breakdowns, and breakthroughs. The other kind of answers come to us when we are open to receiving. Many answers appear subtly in our lives, and we assume they are coincidences or unrelated. The best place to look when confused, anxious, unsure, and pensive, is within.

But the problem is, we rarely ever look in that direction. We are taught to seek answers outside of ourselves in external circumstances, information, and even in the opinions of others.

I want to be clear, the answers I refer to are the ones that are “heavily-loaded”. They are emotionally charged and our need for clarity, certainty, and understanding, yet the lack of it, creates emotional imbalance and turmoil in our lives.

Seeking new information is not a bad thing. Searching for an answer to an intellectual question, might be frustrating at times at the most, but it’s usually not heavily charged with emotion. Similarly, seeking to learn understand and the wisdom of others is also desirable and necessary. Read More

Are you getting in the way of someone else’s healing?

I want to be completely honest with you.  I haven’t been serving you in the full capacity I know I can.  I’ve been hiding a little bit.  I’ve been playing it safe.  And it’s not working.  It’s not what’s right for me, and therefore it’s not what’s best for you.

I’m kind, reasonable, and calm by nature, but I’m also realistic, practical, and pretty good at telling hard truths.  So consider this a little warning.  :) Things are going to be shaken up here, and as a result bigger, scarier, deeper, transformations are going to happen!

One of the challenges we face is balancing our desire to help others and be of service with having our own personal boundaries, and an ability to stand back and allow another person to go through whatever it is they may be experiencing at that time.  I don’t say this as though I’ve mastered it.  It’s something I continuously work on.  As someone who works in the health and healing industry it’s so important that we understand the ways in which we can sometimes, unknowingly, interfere with another person’s healing. There is something in this world you can do better than anyone else.  It might look similar to what other people are doing, but there’s something different.  When it’s infused with your authentic nature, your own wisdom, knowledge, passion, and flavour, it stands out.  It might not stand out to you, but it stands out for others.  People leave your presence feeling changed.

In today’s v-log I talk about what it means to have a superpower, and how to figure out what it is.
