Ohhh it’s been so long! I’ve missed writing. I’ve missed connecting and sharing things with you.

I’m so happy to be back! I really took time to become still during the holy month of Ramadan. While the rest of the city escaped the ever-increasing summer temperatures, I took the opportunity to enjoy some peace and quiet. Honouring Ramadan this year gave me the opportunity to turn within and give back to myself and give back to others in a much deeper way.

I reconnected to a lot of the positive and spiritual practices that I had let slide, because of, well, life and busy-ness.

I talk about one of these practices in today’s podcast, and I challenge you to join me in doing it for twenty-four hours. If that doesn’t seem like a long time, then wait until you hear what it is. Doing this practice for twenty-four hours is a huge challenge! But so worth it.

Find out what it is by listening to the podcast below.

As I said, I would love to hear from you.

On a scale of 1-10 how challenging did you find implementing this practice for twenty-four hours to be?

How can this practice be helpful to you in your life? What would it change?

Thank you for listening and I’ll catch you again soon for Kira in the Middle.

With lots of love,

My friend,

You were born to lead.

You were born to lead millions of people, hundreds, or a lucky few.

Or… perhaps you were born to lead one person – a very lucky one.

Or maybe, just maybe, you were born to lead yourself.  You were born to follow the wisdom of your own heart and mind, and blaze a trail that reveals itself only as you courageously walk along it.

This is what I call leading from within, and it is what I deeply believe in, consistently commit to, and teach others how to do.

Leading from within empowers you to make wise decisions and act based on a deeper understanding and knowing.

This kind of leadership, once you’re tuned into it, flows easily. It’s not forced, aggressive or controlling. It produces positive results, and can help you balance your relationships, both personally and professionally. You become a magnet, and easily attract the people and resources you need in order to lead and live a fun and fulfilling life.

If you feel called to lead in some way, it’s important your leadership comes not from ego, but from sharing your gifts and story with the world. It needs to come from the soul, from a deep place of wanting to empower others and affect positive change.

How to create a positive environment in which you THRIVE.

Hi there.

If you follow me on Instagram you would have noticed I’ve been posting a lot of photos relating to the new home I am creating with my husband.

We have recently purchased our first home together and I have found the process of moving in and decorating it both incredibly challenging and rewarding.

I’ve always been sensitive to my environment.  I went through a stage during my adolescence when my walls were covered from floor to ceiling with posters of pop-stars and my floor was used for clothes storage as I threw things around when deciding what to wear every morning.  When I moved out of my family home things got a lot more simple.

I lived in four different houses within three years, and each time, I did whatever I could to create a sanctuary for myself.  For the most part the only furniture I had was a bed, and sometimes a chest of drawers.  Still, I would burn candles, buy fresh flowers, display photos of family and friends and invest in some second-hand accessories to create a sweet space around from the world that I could retreat to.

Usually I was financially restricted as to how I could fit-out my room.  I was living in shared accommodation and I had a small space in which to work with.  But I refused to come in after a hectic day at work and not feel relaxed and happy to be home.

A house is very different from a home.  A home is a physical and material expression of yourself.  A cluttered home is a sign of a cluttered mind, colours affect our mood and photographs and trinkets gathered on travels bring back memories.

Most importantly the energy of the place you live in needs to be one your comfortable with.

The world today is on high speed.

I’m not against the speed, I’m a fast mover myself.  If I have an idea, dream, or realisation I swiftly move towards making it happen, or at the very least taking steps towards it. Read More
