Three Key Ways to Build Your Spiritual Muscles.

As it is with anything, living and leading from within requires continuous commitment and dedication, followed by taking daily steps to stay connected to your internal world. And in a world that is so much about the ‘external’ stuff, this can be a huge challenge.

There are three key ways to commit to living and leading from within and to help you build your spiritual muscles.

These are:

  • Contemplation
  • Meditation, and
  • Prayer

These three actions are what you can use to ‘tone up’ and ‘show up’, and create an external world that reflects a more aligned and stress-free internal world.

All three steps help you unite your mind, body, and soul, to relieve fear and suffering, and guide you towards freedom, fulfilment, and even, fun!

Why should you build your spiritual muscles?

Well, because you want to be happy right?

You want to feel energised, supported, and loved?

Because you know there’s more to life than just working 9-5, fighting your way through traffic, and putting up with toxic people in your life.

Really, it comes down to knowing there’s more.

There’s so much more than this. You can feel it.

You’re sensitive to it.

You’re sensitive to the world, to what’s happening to the people around you, and to what’s happening within you.

There’s no doubt about it, you need spiritual stamina to live in the light and lead from within.

I have no idea if this podcast will be useful for you.

I simply felt guided to record myself in the middle of a semi-meltdown.

I was totally trying to control everything, to the point of really working myself up  into a highly stressed state.

The situation itself wasn’t stressful at all, rather my attachments and need to control EVERYTHING were getting in the way of me being present and calm in the moment.

Through this experience I gained huge insight into what was really important to me.  You’ll hear me talk about my journey from a girl with a backpack to know having a wonderful home that I adore.

Challenges are one of our greatest teachers.

As you listen to this recording you will notice how I was able to witness my reaction to the situation and turn it around with a simple prayer and by being compassionate towards myself.

I recorded this podcast while in the middle of this high stress, controlling, fear-based emotional state, so I ramble on for awhile until I reach a point of understanding, compassion, and finally release from the fear and need to control. Read More

What’s Your Big Fear? The one that has a hold on you.

What’s your BIG fear? I mean really. What is it that scares the life out of you? It stops you in your tracks, you freeze up, close up, or run for cover.

What is it?

What is that fear?

The one that has a hold on you.

You probably don’t even know what it is. You have a lot of small fears, and those you could reel off to me without a problem. Those fears you can face. Because it’s easier. It’s easier to face those fears than face your really BIG fear.

You cover up your big fear in a bunch of small fears, to validate having a fear, but to avoid looking at the real fear too closely.

What is it about it that shakes you to your core?

What is it about that fear that makes you feel small, powerless, helpless?

What is your BIG fear?

What is it deep down that has a hold on you?

It makes you sick from the inside to even acknowledge it’s there.

You pipe up with all that resistance and defiance, and you probably want to scream at me right now, or simply dismiss me as someone who’s trying to stir up sh*t, stir up all that unnecessary stuff.

You know there’s no point in waking up the sleeping monster. What good will it do? Read More

“I’m so amazing.  I’m perfect.  In every way.  I was born that way!”.

Ha!  Do you know what happened when I just said that to myself?  This voice came into my head and said “oh my god, who do you think you are”, “what will people think of you if you actually publish that!”.

I’ve heard this kind of self-trash-talk sooooo many times before.  It’s annoying, unnecessary, repetitive, and just plain old boring!

Now I laugh at these kind of rubbish thoughts and do whatever I want anyway.  But I tell you, it wasn’t always that way.

So now it’s your turn to try this little experiment. Go on.

Say to yourself, “I’m so amazing.  I’m perfect.  In every way.  I was born that way!”.

What was your next thought after this statement?

Was it mean?  Degrading?  Was it sheer disbelief?  Was it, Kira’s gone mad, what’s this rubbish she’s talking about?  Was it laughter?  Ridicule? Read More

The only fashion advice I’ll ever give you.

Hi gorgeous one,

Today the funniest thing happened.  I was in my car, which is where most of my good ideas show up for me, and I had this hilarious thing come to my mind.  A story I wanted to share with you.  I wasn’t sure if I should share it or not, but then I thought “oh well, what the hell”.  Let me warn you now though, this is probably the closest you’re ever going to get to receiving fashion advice from me.

I’m an inside out kind of woman.

I believe taking care of my mind, body, and soul is where the true beauty lies.  In saying that, I do love me a little fashion.  What I wear is one of the ways I express myself.  And to be honest, it’s not so much about what I wear, but more about how I feel when I wear it.It’s only been recently though, that I’ve felt like my outside truly reflects who am I am on the inside.

In the beginning of my yoga journey, I quickly subscribed to the idea that beauty lies within – exclusively.  I rejected the idea of taking care of the “outer me”, and became negligent about my appearance, to say the least.  On the flip side, there’s been times pre-yoga when I’ve been overly obsessed with my appearance.  At this point in my life I was lacking awareness of the depth and value of my inner qualities.

To sum it up, in the last few years I’ve gone from a back-packing homeless yogi, to living in a big villa in Dubai, with more luxury surrounding me than I ever thought possible. Read More

RAMADAN MUBARAK!

Hello my love. Now is the time of year when our city slows down during the day and comes alive at night. The energy shifts and the days seem longer, even though the work hours are shorter. Ramadan is a time of deep reflection, gratitude, and giving. Read More

Hi beautiful,

I’m all for living our best lives possible. Heck, my whole website, blog, coaching, yoga-ing, is all about it!

But what do we do when we look around and feel like OUR best lives aren’t big enough?

I see it all the time. People living the life of THEIR dreams, but feeling like it’s not enough. They’re not doing enough, their not living big enough.

In this video I speak about my message “you are enough” as a way of overcoming Comparison Syndrome, and give you tips on how to get clear on what living YOUR best life means for YOU.
